Losing Weight the RIGHT Way

It's such a hot topic and unfortunately too many people go about losing weight the wrong way - the unhealthy way which is by calorie deprivation. This is the number one weight loss mistake! What will end up happening over time - whether it's a week or 1 month is that eventually their body will be calorie deprived and they will end up binge eating on anything they can set their eyes on. Once they do this they think - "oh well, I blew it, let me just keep on eating" and that week or months worth of calorie loss is soon lost in one sitting by gorging on 3,000 plus calories. It's sad, but it's true.

That is why it's so important to research and choose safe and realistic meal plans. Never choice a meal plan that has you consuming less than 1200 calories and pick one that will work with your lifestyle so that you can stick with it. If it's not something that is maintainable for life then why bother? You will just end up losing weight on the program and then going back to your old eating habits and putting all the weight back on and then some - ugh! Who needs that? I say no thank you! Find a weight loss plan that will educate you and teach you how to make positive lifestyle changes, a plan with healthy and nutritious foods that you can enjoy for life!

For potential clients that are seeking a fast fix with rapid weight loss, I always turn down. Sometimes people are looking to see 6-10 lbs gone in 1 week. Or they waited until the last minute and now have a class reunion or special event in 2 weeks and want to drop 15 pounds! Seriously? That is just not safe, it's dangerous for your health and will get you know where fast! You will end up worse off then when you started once you resume your normal lifestyle of poor eating choices. I only work with clients that are willing to set realistic goals and get real weight off! They also need to be willing to get to the bottom of why they put the weight on in the first place so that we can make sure it never happens again!

I am not interested in fake weight loss or tricking my clients by taking carbs out of their diet and making them lose water weight - that kind of weight loss is not real! Unfortunatley that is what many of these diets do. If you want to lose weight you must first and foremost be patient and secondly dedicated and willing to do the work. You have to be willing to eliminate all junk foods from your diet. You also have to be willing to get into your head and figure out why you were abusing food in the first place. Get to the root of the problem and I promise you, you will change your life and see real weight loss in the process. Be willing to enjoy the journey and start from a place of happiness!

Q: I am trying to get fit and lose weight but I really want to avoid getting injured since I seem to have a tendency to get injured whenever I start a new workout program. My question is what is better for me running or walking?

A: Running will burn more calories per minute, but you need to start walking before you can run. If you start running before you have a good walking foundation you will increase your chances of injury.
